Just an add-on to my last posting
Cons
OS. Rather battery hungry, especially in live view or video mode, take spare batteries with you, or fit a battery grip

Had this lens for about 2 months now, what a fantastic piece of glass ! no wonder it has been voted superzoom of the year in a couple of awards recently,
Dont know if its as good as or beter than Canon/Nikon lenses ? but I am well pleased with my results
The AF is superquick and the OS is very reliable if,
given the wildlife implications,somewhat noisy!
but then again you can always stick it on a tripod and turn the OS off,
Handheld with the OS switched on its amazing,(4 stops faster I think ? ) even at 500mm, or 800mm on a crop factor 1.6 DSLR! A1 results
PROs
Quick AF
Sharp
Manual focus overide in AF mode
"Useable"
CONs
Noisy OS
( but I have had cheap lens AF systems just as noisy )
