I take it all back, the firmware upgrade of late June has rectified the focus problems, why couldnt they have shipped it with this firmware at the outset ???

Now had this camera for around 6 months and as in my first post about it, the major letdown with this camera is its abysmal focussing speed in anything other than full daylight and especially in video mode with a moving subject. Which is a shame because in all other respects it is an excellent camera .this problem annoys me so much that I may get rid. and go for a little Canon 100D as my " Coat Pocket ".camera.

I bought the kit with the 18-55mm lens & flash, & sourced an EOS-M to EF adaptor from Lambdatek to use my SLR lenses,
I was somewhat disappointed on my first low light outing with it, as focus is painfully slow and sometimes non-existent using the
supplied kit lens, as there is no manual focus option in either still or video mode.
However using an EF-EFS lens with the adapter and switching to manual focus solves that.
In all other respects & in good light it is a pretty good 650D clone without the size & weight and of course a viewfinder.
The accompanying 90-EX Speedlite flash is pretty good as long as you are aware of its power limitations.
I have only had it a week and am still in "explore mode" so may post again about it in the future ?
But Im learning to love it despite its limitations
