After patiently awaiting the availability of either a used or new Benro FGP28C Tripod to show up here, I was finally notified that a Used tripod was available at WEX. And true to their description, it was in pristine condition with original box and accessories. But what I liked most about it, that because they use DPD for their deliveries, I received that Benro tripod the next morning. Superlative service and price for a carbon tripod, as I already have an aluminium Benro tripod, but it is quite a weight to lug around when abroad.

When you spend over £1300 on an "almost new" camera, I would have expected it to include a battery. Even if the original is not included, a 3rd party battery can be obtained for a lot less than a tenner at trade price. Still amazes me when a company does cost cutting like this rather than take the decent approach "lets throw a battery in so the customer can hit the ground running as soon as his/her new camera arrives".
Didn't include the USB-3 lead either but that is of lesser importance.
When I phoned them to ask they said they would sell me a 3rd party batter for a fiver less than list price - still an extra £37+postage.
Back to MPB for me in the future.

Wex have been my supplier of choice for numerous purchases over the last year or so, including significant camera, lens and accessory purchases. Prices are often the best, with excellent UK stock and I often receive items next day despite being here in Somerset. It is good to have someone to trust, with good stock, who's available to advise no-matter what you need.

Absolutely excellent service, great customer care - even called me up to check when it was best to deliver my items. I have also purchased a used lens from Wex and it was absolutely as described, a little better than described in all fairness.

Excellent service, even when things go wrong they were quick to put things right. Also found them to honour deals offered on open days even when they had sold out of stock on the day.

Probably not the cheapest retailer today but in my recent experience with Sony Alpha items they stock what they advertise and deliver quickly. Trouble free buying is worth something these days.

I tend to buy most of my equipment from Wex. They are very good about changing items you are not happy with (in my case, several cameras with immovable sensor spots - Canon's fault, not Wex's). Their warehouse showroom in Norwich is excellent and they are happy to let you spend as much time as you want. Their staff are knowledgeable and polite, including over the phone. Items ordered for home delivery arrive promptly and are well packed. I continue to look at Wex as my first port of call when I am looking at new equipment.
My one disappointment is that they will not price match. Recently I wanted to buy a Canon EF 500mm L lens, an expensive item by anyone's standards. Wex had it at a 5% discount, Castle Cameras at 10%. Wex would not match it, so Castle Cameras got the order (and were also very pleasant to deal with). I found that surprising, since presumably there was more than 5% profit in it for Wex, particularly since I have bought so much from them over the years, but that is their business and it will not stop me dealing with them again: if you look out for their offers, often theirs are as good as any others around anyway.

I bought a tripoid head from this shop. The locking mechanism was faulty. Not their fault, of course. I send it back for a replacement. 4 days later they contact me saying they are ready for a replacement to be sent out, but I forgot to return the head's plate and allen key that came with it. I have to send them back before the can send the replacement.
I politely remind them that they have a plate and allen key in the package of the replacement head they have ready to send out: why don't they take them out, keep them and send the rest?
Absolutely not, is the answer. "You just can't do that". Trying to reason turns out impossible. If I were speaking to a monkey I would have gone much further.
THESE PEOPLE HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO WASTE. If you are someone who doesn't, stay away from them

I have been left very frustrated and disappointed by the customer service from Wex. Having bought around £1700 worth of equipment on finance. I was left frustrated initially by the stock status online went from 5 to 7 working days to awaiting stock for my order.
I ordered the items on the 24th of July. After over a week I called to enquire about length of time my order will take and if the items are in stock at their distributors. A man called Terry could not provide me with any information and would be in touch with a date from distributors. Few days of no response from Terry I called again and got a man called Paul. He again provided no date and promised to call or email me an update by 6pm regardless if he has any information or not..surprise no call or email from Paul.
The next day around 5.30pm I phoned and got through to Stuart, to whom I expressed my disappointment with the service thus far.
Stuart then informed me that only one item (a filter )
was out of stock from my order, I stated my urgency for the goods and understood that as I paid with finance I would have limited options in cancelling the filter to get the order, so I offered to pay additional money for another filter on top of finance , this simple procedure at first seemed an impossible task however after conferring with colleagues I was greeted by news we could send out a complete order to myself on a next day delivery before 12pm!
Naturally I was ecstatic that Stuart took ownership of my stock issue and had resolved this.
So I book Friday as an admin day for work... and 12pm passes by. Around 2.45 I phone to check status of my delivery to find it had not even been processed. And that it will now be sent out for Saturday between 8 am and 1 pm.
No apology again just another poor excuse about an error from barclays their finance partner.
I would not be surprised if the goods don't even show up tomorrow.
I will actively state to people I know not to buy from Wex based on my customer experience. And nor shall I ever purchase from them again.
Anyone else looking for camera equipment go to calumet,CVP, pro av, .. even jessops or curry's... they would look after their customers better.

I did order Fujifilm X-T10 camera. Next day I got email what my order is cancelled WITH no explain why. Then I email them asked for explain got answer what they do not send to Purcel motel addresses ( I live in Ireland and it how I buy from UK,less hassle and save me on shipping)... In my opinion WEX Photographic by making small price they advertising they shop and if someone orders they cancel order. And I bet most people dont bother complain. Is a two star but not one for a reasons: they returned money and they replayed to my one email.
I would not recommend this shop if you found best prise on it. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Here is big chance your order will be cancelled.

I recently purchased a Skywatcher Synscan upgrade Kit from Wex Photographic.I paid £327 for it. This price was way over the average as most outlets are charging less.I did not find this out until after making the purchase. They were helpful enough and replied to me email saying if I was not happy to return the goods for a refund. However there was no effort to offer a price match Fair enough but the cost of return postage makes that venture not worth the hassle.I therefore decided to keep the product.
I would not buy fron Wex again.they are too expensive for me

I recently sold a Canon 40D in part exchange for a Fuji X-T1. Their collection/delivery service was first rate and they even telephoned to update me on the part exchange deal. All in all, I found them excellent to deal with and had no problems whatsoever. On a previous occasion I purchased a Wacom Intuos tablet and again I received a quick and efficient service. Bought a Nikon 24mm 1.4 (costing £1600) from Warehouse Express. It was poor, so I phoned to explain the problem, but they didnt want to listen to me and they didnt want the lens back.
Nonetheless, I sent it back with an explanatory letter and asked for a refund.
No refund came; and there was no reply to my letter.
So, after four weeks, I consulted the governments Consumer Direct, and as a result I sent Warehouse Express a second letter telling them I would take the matter to a County Court if they did not return my money within two days.
They refunded the cost of the lens but not the cost of returning it to them.

The usual friendly and helpful service allowed me to try out several camera bags with my gear, in my own time.
They are not always the cheapest, but so far have always given excellent service.
Highly recommended.

I would rate Warehouse Express as poor overall.
Whilst they have a well laid out website and its easy to use and order they have let me down on my last two orders. Both out of stock. The first order in mid September has still not been dispatched. There are good points and bad points to this online shop, but on the whole I think Ill go elsewhere next time.

I ordered an NEC Spectraview from Warehouse Express only for them to deliver a damaged used monitor – at over a £1000 worth of monitor I was far from happy. After initially being told that if I really wanted it replaced I’d have to wait a couple of week till they got a new one in stock.
Anyway finally got it resolved but followed it up letting them know as a customer who’s spent over £10k with them in the last year I was far from happy with their error and their lack of customer service following the issue – good old warehouse express manage to looses the email (sent via their contact us pages on their site). As a last ditch attempt I posted the issue on their forum which they acknowledged (finally) and promises to look into it – a week later I got a standard email from them saying sorry but do try us again!! Not likely – after a being a customer of 4 years having spent in excess of £20k and recommending them to many other I will not use them ever again and I’d strongly advise looking for one of the alternative supplier out their who actually care about their customers and what they do.

This is one of the few shops around that
a) know about the goods
b) allow you to try them out
c) are not in the least bit pushy
d) keep loads of stock
I recently bought a Kirk tripod head from there. I spent at nearly two hours trying lenses on the head and testing it on a tripod. They were helpful, courteous and didnt give you the impression that you were a nuisance.
There are VERY few shops which have the stock to view and try. My view is keep them in business because more and more are going out of business.
I drove for 5 hours there and back and would do it again for the pleasure of looking and trying goods-a rare treat.
Ignore the negative comments. maybe not the absolute cheapest but that isnt always the most important.

I have used Warehouse Express over the last 5 or 6 years and have never had a problem with them. Orders have always arrived the next day; whenever there has been a problem (only once or twice) this has been quickly and courteously resolved. On one occasion I bought a lens - I didnt like it so I sent it back within 7 days without any problem at all.

I have been a customer of this shop for around 4 years and have spend several thousand pounds in the process, however, as has been noted elsewhere, they have really gone downhill lately. It seems they have grown bigger than they can handle. I have had a number of issues with their delivery people sending me the wrong stuff or stuff I had cancelled etc and their accounts department always seems a bit unsure of whats going on. Although they always have sorted things out in the end, you really dont want this sort of hassle.
The most recent inconvenience I had was in sending back a faulty Canon lens. I would have returned it to Canon under warranty but Warehouse Express told me they would deal with it for me if I paid £10 for pick up, which I did. Sure enough next day the courier picked the lens up. Unfortunately, it sat in their shop for SIX WEEKS before they got round to posting it to Canon. I phoned regularly to check on progress and all they could tell me was that it hadnt appeared on their system but was probably caught up in a backlog. ( this was a lens worth around £1000 ) When it eventually got to Canon they turned it round in a couple of days.
I dont find their sales people very knowledgeable and their prices are not what they were. I was really impressed with them when I first dealt with them but they get more like Jessops every day. In short I dont really rate them at all any more.

After spending just over £3,000.00 over a period of 5 years, I needed some service from Warehouse Express. This was the only time I had requested any assistance during that period.
I am sorry to say that the customer service is nothing short of apalling.
They say they have excellent customer service. Well if ignoring your e-mails and also two letters that I sent them with no reply is their idea of customer service, they can keep it.
This dealer is NOT recommended.

Originally a breath of fresh air in the photo market, they seem to be struggling with customer service.
The call centre operation does not engender good customer relations and most telephone staff generally know little about the product.
Prices are Ok, but not as competitive as they once were.
In the past I ordered a Canon 135mm F2 lens from them.
It arrived the next day, packaged in the display box, with a plastic mailing bag as packaging.
Not exactly a great way to send out a £700 lens.
They also seem to have taken the price match promise off their website.
With the greatest respect, a single state of the art showroom in Norfolk is too remote for most people in the UK.

Have used to buy stuff on a couple of occasions and they have always been very good, well packaged, prompt delivery, generally competitve prices.
Their price beat offer is also good, although limited to only a few of their competitors. It is however checking this out as they reduce their price by 125% of the difference between their price and their competitors. Therefore the bigger the difference the more they nock off, sometimes making them cheaper than the cheapest noted on this website.
I did this to buy my D300 and made a nice saving (Even though a week later it was even less but thats how these things go!)

My once favourable impression of Warehouse Express was recently marred by discovering that a box of (not cheap) Epson A2 photo paper Id bought from them had been opened and paper removed. I mentioned it when chasing them up for a receipt for a different purchase, but was given the distinct impression that they werent concerned. I suppose theyve become so big that one individual customer hardly matters to them.

W.E. are very good, competitive outfit. Their p&p is too much especially on smaller items. I have used their interest free loans and price match options which helps no end in budgeting. The wont price match AND give interest free though: pity. I use them for expensive items because if there is a problem I want to sort it out in a straightforward way with a legit UK company that sells UK goods (no grey imports).

Stock control is still a mess even with the online system, which is supposed to indicate stock levels. If an item is in high demand it seems a lottery who gets delivery first, with no committed date, unless you phone up and ask.
I would hesitate to buy any more urgent items now as I have been caught a few times recently.

Ordered second time from warehouse express. Was told i cannot have different delivery address to billing address as its my first order. Never mind i was logged into/ordered from the same account as my first order a few weeks ago. They managed to establish this after a few email exchanges, and different delivery address was ok.
Stuff arrived next day, they sent some items which werent in the slightest related to what i ordered, and forgot other items...though $$$ wise it worked out in my favour.
they dont seem as "on the ball" as other online retailers.
Date: 12th May 2008
Online ordering makes a mess of your billing address (confirmed in the email order confirmation), leading to mismatch against credit card provider information...and delays in order being processed.
Ordered a tripod and ball-head. Instructions for the ball-head had the contents of someones nose on them...so not convinced im getting brand new items from this mob.

Not the best service in the world, even after they go on about how many awards they win!
Was promised a price match recently. He said no problems and I will save the details for a week so I could make my mind up. Well within 3 days I decided to go for it, but when I went to order they had lost my deal and refused to do it again. The advertise price matching but rarely do it! I even reported them to trading standards once for false advertising for a bird watching scope. They stated they would beat ANY price out there (no strings as long as it was not on eBay or second had) but when it came down to it they just wouldnt match the price I found from the London Camera Exchange!
Postage high too. I did have an order go missing in the post once from them that they replaced swiftly though, which was good. Also their staff often know squat about cameras!
