Ffordes Photographic Shop Reviews

This is an update to my initial review in which I gave Ffordes 1 star due to a dispute over the condition of a camera I purchased.
I have been using Ffordes for around 2 years and have enjoyed a good service up until the incident.
Alister Bowie from Ffordes intervened and was understanding and quickly resolved the matter. Thank you Alister.
My change in rating reflects the service and customer care that Alister has provided.
It is good to know that Ffordes has good people like Alister working there.

I have been using Ffordes for about 2 years now, and did not have a problem until recently.
They were one of my 'goto' sites for camera gear.
Unfortunately, I recently bought an expensive camera from them which they described as 'Exc+'.
The camera I received was far from 'Good'. It had broken parts, the flap covering for the mic and headphone and the rubber grip had come off the body. The screen had large deep scratches, the body had number scratches of varying deepness and paint chips.
I asked for refund of the camera as well as postage costs, which Ffordes initially agreed.
Having returned the camera at my own cost, Ffordes then only agreed to refund the cost of the camera.
I am having to get advice from Trading Standards and make a claim via my Credit Card company.
It is a shame that Ffordes hold so little for their customers and their reputation.
I will be avoiding Ffordes completely now.

Bought two used items recently, one modern and one from the 1950`s. In both cases the condition was better than expected from their grading. Delivery was quick and online ordering was trouble free. I rate their service as excellent.

Good shopping experience. Good shop to visit. Good stock of new and secondhand with reasonable prices, and more importantly good knowledge of photography
