The Sony HVL-F43M flash gun replaces the older HVL-F43AM flash. The sublte change in name marks the shift in hot show interfaces from Sony, from the Autolock accessory shoe found on older cameras to the new Multi Interface Shoe found on the latest Sony cameras. Older Sony cameras without the new Multi Interface Shoe are still supported with the optional ADP-AMA adaptor. In line with it's predecessor, the HVL-43M has a guide number of 43 and has the innovative Quick Shift Bounce system, which enables you to rotate part of the flash head to maintain the same angle of flash bounce when switching from landscape to portrait orientation. It is dust and moisture resistant, and can be used to wirelessly control other Sony flash units. One new addition for the new model is the LED video light for shooting video in poor light situations. The Sony HVL-43M is compatibale with Sony's ALpha SLT cameras such as the SLT-A99, SLT-A58, NEX system cameras such as the NEX-6, interchangeable-lens camcorders such as the HDR-VG30 and several new cyber-shot compact cameras like the HX50, RX1/RX1R and RX100 II.
