Brilliant lens.The perfect standard prime lens for any Nikon DX camera, from the Nikon D3500 through to the pro D500.
Ultra-sharp and light. More than a match for high resolution sensors. Macro shots are a breeze. It's great for detailed close-up images and photographing people. And, surprisingly good at producing landscapes with lots of detail.
This lens is equivalent to a 60mm lens on DX cameras. Far better choice than the cheaper Nikon AF-S 35mm DX f1.8, which I find is a bit too wide for use as a standard lens.
As a retired professional photographer, I love using this 40mm lens.
